Regrouting Shower

Regrouting a tile shower is a difficult task but can be done by many industrious diy homeowners.
Regrouting shower. Attach the removal unit and set the bit depth to 1 4 in. Remove remaining grout manually. Renewing old grout has always involved long hours of hacking away at old worn grout with a tiny grout saw.
Water enters through cracked brittle grout and builds moisture behind. Clean joints with a grout saw. New caulk makes sense when regrouting a shower.
Fit an oscillating tool with a blade designed for grout removal. Let the grout sit for another three hours and then take some wet paper towels and wipe off the powdery film that usually remains. Let the grout harden for 30 minutes and then use your grout saw to give it an even appearance.

Remove the excess. Remove the old grout. Most manufacturers sell blades designed for this.
Clean up the grout lines. You should only attempt to regrout a shower with narrow grout lines that have unsanded grout in them. When your shower grout washes down the drain with the bath water and you stub your toe in the crevices it s time to regrout.
