When your surgeon clears you to shower which may be the day after your vasectomy wash the area gently with soap and water. Refrain from intercourse ejaculation for one week. You can take a shower the evening after your vasectomy.
This will help prevent the risk of infection. No sex or ejaculations for one week. Remember that while you can shower you should avoid bathing in a tub of water or swimming for five days.
Ejaculation may cause some discomfort in the groin and testicles until the tissues heal. You may shower 24 hours after your vasectomy. We recommend bathing or showering at least 48 hours post op provided you pay close attention to cleaning and gently drying your genitals.
