Shower Height

Shower controls should be placed at a height 40 50 102 127 cm above the shower floor and out of direct line of the water path to avoid being caught in extremely cold or hot water when operating.

However its commonly installed at 78 or 72 inches by many builders and plumbers. That comes out to 80 inches altogether. A standard shower curtain is typically 72 inches long so the curtain rod should be installed around 75 to 77 inches from the floor.

Shower heads are located at a standard height of 80 203 cm but can be set at a minimum height of 72 183 cm if desired. Usually shower heads are installed at 72 inches high but installation at 76 inches from the shower drain is done in some homes based on the owner s preference.
